Edward Thompson was a musician and one of Teaneck’s finest performing arts educators. He provided many years of music education to elementary, middle and high school students in Teaneck Public Schools. Over the course of many years, he devoted his time, passion and talent to the community.

He was a beacon to all students who chose education through the performing arts. To honor his legacy, the Edward Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established. The scholarship will be awarded to a Teaneck High School Senior who will be pursuing a career in the performing arts at the collegiate level.

A benefit event was held in May 2017 to raise funds for the scholarship, featuring performances by an number of Ed’s colleagues at Teaneck Schools, including Reggie Pittman, Loren Daniels, Valerie Johnson and Todd Murphy, along with a few of Ed’s former students.

If you would like to make a donation to the scholarship fund, contact Reggie Pittman for more information.
